Welcome to the East Sussex Bach Choir
The East Sussex Bach Choir is based in Lewes, East Sussex and is committed to the performance of works from the baroque and early classical periods, but is also proud of its versatility in performing music of all types.
The forthcoming 2011/2012 season will celebrate 25 years since the choir was formed.

To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we will be joined by friends of the choir in a programme titled ‘The Glory of Bach’ The choir’s founding director, Roger Durston, will be joining our director, John Hancorn for an enjoyable and stimulating evening of JS Bach’s music including extracts from The B minor Mass and the St. John Passion.
We are delighted that the international Baroque violinist, Alison Bury, will join Lucinda Houghton and Pippa Longworth with Ray Maulkin and Nicholas Houghton to complete our programme of Bach’s glorious music.
This is the choir’s ‘thank you’ concert to its very loyal Lewes audience and to our very generous hosts and partners at St John sub Castro.

St. Bartholomews Church in Brighton will be the setting of our performance of the St. Matthew Passion. We are delighted that our President, Sir John Tomlinson will be singing the part of Christus on Good Friday, 6th April, 2012 7:00pm. He will be joined by Sarah Connolly, Andrew Griffiths, Elin Manahan Thomas, Robert Davies , Samuel Boden and The Baroque Collective led by Alison Bury. The choir will be joined by members of the BREMF singers.
