Welcome to the East Sussex Bach Choir
The East Sussex Bach Choir is based in Lewes and is directed by John Hancorn. We have members of all ages, from a wide range of backgrounds, drawn together by a shared love of singing baroque, classical and modern music.
In developing its musical identity under the direction of John Hancorn, the ESBC has also formed lasting working relationships with professional singers of international standing including our president Sir John Tomlinson CBE. We also have a strong commitment to the development of young singers and we use many of our concerts to give opportunities to emerging young stars to tackle major works in partnership with a group of top players.
A major attraction of singing with the choir is our longstanding relationship with the Baroque Collective, a group of professional musicians of national and international repute who specialise in period instrument performance.
Tickets for our forthcoming performance of ‘Magnificat’ (C.P.E. Bach) and ‘Nelson Mass’ (Haydn) are still available. £12 tickets can be purchased by following the instructions on the Tickets page.
